As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oklahoma, she is required to do everything within her power to protect a client’s right to privacy, even when a client is not aware of the potential risks of how their private information could be compromised.

Usage Data – Anonymous Data Disclosed by User’s Computer/Device
The Practice also collects anonymous information on how Users accessed and used ("Usage Data") the Website. This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, other diagnostic data, and demographic information when available.

Communication between a client and therapist is considered Privileged Private information, on par with the privacy protections observed between attorneys and clients, priests and parishioners, and journalists with their sources. Only by a court order from a judge can sensitive information be curated and revealed in a setting determined by the court.
Forfeiture of Privacy Protection
By law, a licensed mental health care provider is considered a “mandated reporter” with a legal obligation to disclose to authorities when a client has:
- made a credible statement they wish to harm themselves,
- made credible threats to harm others (identified or unidentified, individual or group), and
- made a credible statement to commit a destructive act against property.
- Additionally, if the mandated reporter has witnessed abuse (emotional, psychological, sexual, and physical); suspects abuse has occurred in the past; or believes abuse is occurring on a chronic basis.
Under the circumstances described above, a client receiving mental health services has voluntarily forfeited their rights to privacy.
Security of Data
The security of your data [Emails & Text Messages] is important to the Practice but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Anger Management Institute of Tulsa, PLLC, does not use, condone, or approve of "electronic medical records", which have never been secure, and is a complete fraud to all consumers. The records, notes, and signed intake forms managed by the Practice are kept in a triple-layer secure environment.
